General Information

Clothing :
Delhi will be pleasant during the event. The temperatures range would be from 20-25 degree Celsius.

Languages :

English is commonly used in all business transactions, however the main spoken language is Hindi. Official language of the Congress shall be English.

Letter of Invitation :

Invitation letters will be issued on request to facilitate delegates to travel. However this does not imply any financial support towards expenses for attending the conference, such as registration, travel and hotel accommodation.

Currency :
The currency of India is Rupee which is 100 paise. Rupee currency comes in denominations of 1,2,5,10,20,50,100,500 and 1000. The present conversation rate is 1USD= Rs.45 (approx).

Visas :
To be obtained from Indian Missions abroad. One should possess a valid National Passport (except in case of Bhutanese and Nepalese citizens who may carry only suitable means of identification). Visitors are generally required to make an oral identification of their baggage and foreign currency in their possession.

Immunization :
Yellow Fever inoculations are necessary for all delegates coming from / transiting through Endemic Yellow Fever Countries.

Credit Cards :
Almost all the International credit cards like VISA, Amex and Master Card are accepted.

Insurance :
The faculty members and delegates must make their own insurance for attending the conference and the organizers shall not be responsible for any damages.


Mode of Travel in Delhi

 

Taxi: Taxis are on call 24 hrs. over the telephone and local ones are usually black and yellow.  These usually run on electronic meters for the first kilometer the charge is Rs. 10 and Rs. 5 for every subsequent kilometer.  There are prepaid counters at the Railway Station and the airport.

From Domestic Airport – India Habitat Centre – Rs. 250/- approximately

From International Airport – India Habitat Centre Rs. 350/- approximately

 

Autorickshaws: Autorickshaws are cheaper and more conveniently available than taxis. Most of the autorickshaws usually run on electronic meters, as per the latest charges Rs. 8 is charged for the first kilometer and Rs. 3.50 for every subsequent kilometer. There are prepaid counters at the station for hiring the same.
